Jade O'Donahoo

Jade O’Donahoo was co-founder and operator of the acclaimed hole-in-the-wall café Switch Board, opened in the heritage-listed Manchester Unity building in central Melbourne in 2005. Her book project started as a promise to a customer, devastated by news that Jade was selling the café and that her favourite dishes would be available no more. “Don’t worry,” Jade said, “the recipes are so easy, I’ll just write them down for you!” And so Jade’s little book came to be. As it grew, she recognised that she had something special on her hands, something that she would like to share with a wider audience. Jade has a blog, Eat This My Friend, and is also now studying to be a teacher. She cares for her young son, nurtures a backyard vegetable patch, loves skateboarding, and is engaged in her local community – particularly anything to do with food.
