OVERVIEW


Hardie Grant Books, a division of Hardie Grant Publishing, is looking for a commissioning editor (parental leave position) to manage an existing publishing program list and commission great books in the narrative non-fiction space while our publisher is on leave. This position will work closely with the managing director and duties will include commissioning new titles for the forward program, and working closely with our existing stable of authors.



THE ROLE

 
We are looking for someone with at least two years’ experience in acquiring and developing commercially successful print titles, with an interest or experience in narrative non-fiction. You will work with a team of publishers and editors in a vibrant and exciting independent book publishing business, creating books for the global market. The ideal candidate will have established publishing contacts and be comfortable developing new book concepts, managing budgets, and working with a team.
 
Please note this is a part time parental leave cover role, for the period of 10 months.
