Hardie Grant Books is a leading independent book publisher specialising in illustrated non-fiction with a dynamic portfolio of overseas publishers. 
 
 

The role

 
We are seeking an energetic Product Manager to support our growing imports business, as a parental leave cover position. The role will develop, manage and deliver strategy to achieve annual revenue, gross margin, contribution and inventory budgets across agency publishing lists. This will be achieved by excellent product management, working closely with sales, marketing and our agency partners to maximise promotional opportunities and channel expansion. You will be in charge of agency relationships which involves a high volume of communication and reporting so both of these must be a strength.  Other responsibilities include inventory management, new title selection, positioning and scheduling, product presentations, business reviews and working with marketing and publishing services to deliver these books to market in a timely and efficient manner.
 
 

Requirements

 
We are looking for someone who is meticulously organised, a pro at prioritising and great at managing relationships. You will be a fast learner, ready to hit the ground running and adept at juggling multiple stakeholders.  You will be a great communicator and self-directed, ready to join to a highly motivated team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience working in book publishing or in inventory management.  Familiarity with Bookmaster or similar databases will be looked upon favourably. Other big ticks include being an excel master (or comfortable learning!), possessing excellent analytical skills and enjoying finding creative solutions.
