About us

Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing is an award-winning specialist kids and YA publisher who values storytelling and creative thinking. We are seeking a full-time Product and Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position is an excellent fit for a diligent and capable go-getter, preferably with administrative office experience, who is keen to play a role in a best-in-class publishing group. An ideal candidate will share our great passion for children’s books and ensuring our stories and storytellers are championed every step of the way.

The role

Working across the product and marketing teams of Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing to provide integral administrative support, manage key systems and facilitate our critical path and monthly briefing process.
 

Key responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support including managing invoices, creating key presentations and sales materials, facilitating marketing mail-outs and media databases, and managing tour itineraries.
  • Collating briefing materials and managing sales and marketing critical path end-to-end.
  • Coordinating key product and marketing meetings by preparing materials, managing agenda and minutes, and actioning follow-up points.
  • Ensuring title information is loaded and maintained across key systems (Firebrand, Edelweiss, Bookmaster). Act as primary point-of-contact for sales team and retailers, fielding material requests and distributing updates as required.

You’ll have a passion for storytelling and children’s book publishing, a keen eye for detail, a commitment to a job well done and a creative streak to ensure our team, audiences and booksellers are equipped with the very best materials. If you thrive on effective task juggling and a masterful to-do list, enjoy taking ownership of your tasks and getting stuck into new systems and processes, and are a great communicator with strong written and verbal skills then this is the role for you! A background in publishing and office administration (Word and Excel skills essential, InDesign/Illustrator skills desirable) is preferred, yet ultimately a clever, capable, savvy team player with a dedicated willingness to champion new tasks will succeed in this role.
