Annie Smithers

Annie Smithers is one of Australia's best-regarded chefs, having built a distinguished restaurant career, including working at Stephanie Alexander's acclaimed restaurant. Since 2013, she has worked at du Fermier ('From the Farmhouse'), her charming small-town rural restaurant, producing rustic French food. Her menus are dictated by the seasons. The ingredients are largely all sourced from Annie's thriving garden (filled with chickens, geese, apple trees, and about an acre of vegetables), and the eventual goal of the restaurant and the garden is to be self-sustaining.
