We are looking for an experienced and creative editor to join our Travel division to work on a wide variety of illustrated books focusing on places, people and the environment. Many of our titles encompass inspirational travel, hardworking guidebooks and First Nations publishing, while children’s non-fiction titles and narratives make up the mix.
Working alongside the Senior Editor, and reporting to the Publisher, you will edit and project-manage our selection of non-fiction titles predominantly for the adult trade, from approved manuscript through to books in the warehouse.
Your duties will include project-managing book titles, maintaining budgets, copy-editing, proofreading, developing design briefs and image research. You’ll be a natural at author care and championing books in-house and will liaise regularly with our marketing and sales teams.
You must have at least two years’ editorial experience and you will be someone who can project-manage multiple titles and can handle every aspect of book production, including liaising with authors and freelancers. You love words but equally love images, are excited by innovative design and care about curated content.
If you have impeccable organisational skills and enjoy working as part of a small team, then this is the dream editorial role for you. In-house editorial experience is strongly preferred. A working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite is an added bonus.
