Hardie Grant Egmont is always looking for fresh, exciting and well-written stories that kids and teenagers will love to read. We especially welcome 'Own Voice' stories and manuscripts from diverse authors.
Please submit your picture book manuscript as either a Word document or pdf. In the body of your email please pitch your story in two sentences. Picture book manuscripts should be no more than 500 words.
Please include a cover letter that pitches the story in two sentences, a full synopsis and the first three chapters. Chapters should be submitted as either a Word document or pdf.

We are not currently accepting non-fiction submissions.
All submissions should be accompanied by a short biography, a note specifying whether the manuscript is a picture book, junior fiction, middle-grade or young adult novel, and your contact details. Please submit only one manuscript per category at a time.

Once you've submitted your manuscript, you'll receive an automatic reply email to acknowledge we've received it. If we are interested in your manuscript we'll email you within two months. If we do not contact you please assume we appreciate your interest in working with us but have decided your manuscript is not suitable for our lists.
