Who are Bradt?
Founded over 40 years ago, Bradt Travel Guides is now the largest wholly independent travel guide publisher in the UK. Launched with a single title (Backpacking along Ancient Ways in Peru and Bolivia), they now have a list of some 200 guides covering the globe, from southern Chile to the Arctic Circle. In 2016, they won the prestigious Wanderlust Gold Award for Best Guidebook Series (beating DK Eyewitness and Lonely Planet into second and third place respectively).

Why are Bradt Guides different?
  • They have built a reputation for publishing the first guides to emerging destinations. Today, over 60% of our guides have no direct competition in English. Other travel series either don’t cover these destinations at all or they include them as a small part of a larger region whereas we have dedicated, standalone guides.
  • They also have a reputation for fine writing. The guides are written by authors who have really got to know the destinations they’re writing about, often over many years or decades.
  • They are committed to promoting sustainable, respectful travel.
  • Their guides are handsomely produced, with striking covers and colour inserts.
