There is no bigger AFL football club in Australia right now than Essendon - the mighty Bombers. They have the most members, the highest national profile of any club, around one million supporters nationwide, a hugely popular website and a team that's taken them to two grand finals and one preliminary final in the past three seasons. In season 2002, the Bombers will again be near the top of the tree. And they are using this year to poll their many fans to determine the 60 greatest players in Essendon's history. This popular vote, combined with the opinions of an expert committee, will also determine the ranking of the top 60 - so we will have a declaration of the greatest Essendon player of all time. Will it be Coleman, or Reynolds or Hutchison? Or maybe a modern champion, such as Watson, Madden or Hird? All will be revealed at a special, gala club function late in August. Champions of Essendon contains profiles of all 60 players, career stats, little-known facts and many rare and previously unpublished photos. Lavishly produced in full colour, it will be a ‘must have' for every true Bomber fan.
