Tom Bamforth

TOM BAMFORTH is an aid worker and writer. He has worked in humanitarian response and international development with the Red Cross, International Organisation for Migration, and Norwegian Refugee Council since 2005 when he was caught in the Pakistan earthquake while on an archeological tour of the North West Frontier Province. He studied history in Melbourne and London and is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Swinburne Institute for Social Research. His writing has appeared in Granta, Griffith Review, The Age, Saturday Paper and South China Morning Post. He is the author of Deep Field: Dispatches from the Frontlines of Aid Relief (Hardie Grant 2014).
