About the Book:
In Print Play, screen printing designers and teachers Jess Wright and Lara Davies welcome you into their colourful, pattern-filled world with twenty-four easy-to-follow projects. Learn how to create everything from tote bags, T-shirts and cushion covers, to wall hangings, wrapping paper and planter boxes.

Screen printing is a very old method of printing – the technique actually dates back to the 18th century, so it’s officially old school! The process involves passing ink through a mesh screen that has been stretched on a frame. Screen printing is SO easy to do at home, and everything you need is readily found at most art stores. Once you have assembled your screen printing kit, the printing possibilities are endless.

Print Play takes you through the essentials of getting started and then moves onto single colour stencil printing, multicolour stencil printing, registration printing and repeat pattern printing. It then shows you how to print on paper, wood, corkboard, with metallic foil, and finally, how to print without a screen!

With a fun focus on creating colour palettes, finding inspiration and designing your own unique patterns, Jess and Lara inspire you to create some screen printing magic of your own.

About the Authors:
Jess Wright and Lara Davies are textile designers and screen printing teachers from Melbourne. They own and run Home-Work, a design studio in Brunswick where designers can rent studio spaces, and where Jess and Lara run screen printing workshops and create their own signature, colourful screen printing patterns. Jess and Lara have built a reputation for being fun and inclusive teachers with an emphasis on encouraging their students to take risks and have fun with design. They also teach workshops all over Australia and recently travelled to Los Angeles to host workshops for Poketo.
